Somewhere over the Rainbow
I've had my head down this last month finishing this triple four-patch barn raising rainbow wonder. It is a gift for a craft exchange on a board I'm on, and it's on it's way to it's new home already. I'm a little sad to see it go, but I'm cooking up a similar, bed-sized version as a future endeavor. And an endeavor it will be- this 48" x 60" throw has more than 60 fabrics in it and 1,920 individual squares!
I love the way it turned out! I was inspired by the triple four patch quilt in an American Patchwork & Quilting book. It was a scrappy number in 1800's reproduction fabric, but the vision of a radiant rainbow quilt struck me when I saw it. The colors and fabrics are so cheerful, I was really smiling every time I worked on it. Here's some more views to enjoy!

Your quilt is gorgeous Alexis! I'm going to forward your post to my mom to read too - she's a great quilter!
ReplyDeleteI saw this on TBW and it is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has attempted a couple of simple quilts I can appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into it.
